In the world of SongHai, working alongside the Chief are the Vent Divers, who excel as divers and warriors. They dress lightly, allowing them to venture into the depths of the ocean and collect iron foot snails for the tribe. These skilled divers have also learned to harness the incredible symbiotic relationship between vent shrimp and vent worm. In exchange for the CO2 they exhale, the vent shrimp provide them with O2, enabling them to stay submerged for longer durations.
To enhance communication and visibility underwater, the Vent Divers extract luminescent dye from ocean creatures and use it as body paint. This practice not only improves their ability to communicate effectively underwater but also ensures they are easily observable in the captivating underwater environment.
