In the world of Songhai, the Chief assumes a critical role, serving not only as a leader and warrior but also as a skilled craftsman capable of manipulating raw metal materials extracted from the ocean floor. The Chief adorns a raw metal mask and apron, which not only provide protection during combat but also enable him to withstand the intense heat emanating from his furnace. Additionally, on his right hand, he wears a heat-resistant glove crafted from the shell of the Yeti-crab, a white crustacean found near the volcanic chimneys on the ocean floor.
